One thing I have learnt this year, is that time goes very, very fast regardless of what you are doing with your life. My last year of high school went by in what felt like a few weeks. University, felt like 10 years and 10 minutes simultaneously. And now 2016, my first year in the “real world” has only taken a matter of seconds for the beginning of February to turn into the end of July. This being said my next adventure feeling miles away is almost directly in front of me. A scary and exciting time as I finally get to step into what I am called and designed to do.
As some of you may or may not know, in September, I will be moving to Kona, Hawaii. However I am not moving over to be some surfer chick who falls in love with some hot surfer guy and lives happily ever after sun tanned and lying on the beach. And as beautiful as that sounds, that is not what I have been put on this planet to do. I know that God has put me on this earth to fulfil his plan for my life. To love and care for his people.
“Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there is no use arguing with God about your destiny.”
I am going to be joining hundreds of other people my age from all over the world in our pursuit to learning about Jesus Christ and what it means to be his disciple in this day and age. I will be attending the University of the Nations, YWAM (youth with a mission).
YWAM is a christian organisation founded in 1960. Its aim is to train young people up as disciples of Jesus Christ to go out and reach the lost throughout the globe.
Here I will be completing a DTS (discipleship training school). Which consists of 3 months of training in Hawaii and then another 3 months in another (unknown) country doing outreach.
Now, I am 9 weeks out from leaving my home, family, friends and work, it is really beginning to sink in. September is creeping closer, I am doing my best to prepare and save for the six months. Like everything in this day and age, my adventure comes at a cost. I am needing to raise, $4235USD to fund the first 3 months in Hawaii. And then around $5000USD to fund the outreach I will be going on. This all goes to my accomodation, food and travel expenses while I am away. Working full time, I have been able to save quite a bit and am beginning to sell some of my clothes and do other fundraisers to raise the money needed but I am still far away from where I need to be. I have complete faith that God will provide what is needed but if you would like to contribute at all to my funding that would be so so appreciated. I am not one to want to ask for money and it does feel awkward to write that people can give but if you don’t ask you won’t receive, and I am in no position to pretend that I am able to do this all on my own. I have experienced Gods miraculous provision before and know that he can provide, as long as I do the possible!
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
The most exciting thing for me is to grow and develop in my relationship with Jesus on a completely new level. To really step into the gifts God has given me and to use them to help other people meet their Heavenly Father and know him as I do. I know that God has called me out to chase after him and I am so excited and willing to do the work he has set for me. 3 years ago I would not have imagined embarking on such an adventure but now that I am it is becoming clearer each day that this is what I am supposed to being doing.
I am so willing and eager to get started on Gods plan for my life and what he has called me to do! If you would like to be a part of it then you can subscribe to get updates on what I am doing and if there is anything I can pray for please let me know! I would love to pray for you!
